I Still want to see someone stick their studs right through Ronaldo and put him out for a good number of weeks. Then we'll see just how good Man Utd are without him. TBH without him they're average - no real strength in depth. Rooney's off form, Saha's missed a few games, and Giggs isn't setting the world alight. having Scholes back has been a bonus for them, and he's scored a few decent goals ths season, but he's nowhere near the player he was. So him, Giggs, Solksjaer and Neville can't go on forever. Once they drop below par, and Ronaldo is injured / leaves there's nothing there to be scared of. Their ressies are average: Silvestre, Heinze, Brown, Fletcher etc. - I'd atually sy our squad is stroner than theirs - it's just their 1st 11 have been more consistent in the early part of the season.

So, again - where is the proof that we're capable of WINNING THE LEAGUE?

Not that we can go on sustained runs of form that leave us 2nd or 3rd. But proof that we capable CHAMPIONS.

I'm not just being stubborn mate, i'm presenting the facts. Nobody can provide a factual argument to it, because there hasnt been one, yet, since 1990.
You are suggesting the only time anyone can be correct about a team being capable of winning the league is after they have won it, which is absurd to the point of stupidity because you have to be capable of winning it before you win it.

Your negativity on this thread is basically in pedantic defence of an incorrect point.

The point is mate, the other 3 have ALL won it in the past 5 or 6 years.

          We havent in 17.

They've been there, done it, proven capable.

We havent, and the best we can do is just SAY "Oh yeah, COURSE we're capable"....

But talk is cheap mate, that's the point. We cant yet back up any claims. Anyone can SAY, we have to actually DO.

But even our current squad hasnt proven capable yet, and it wont do, until it actually delivers.
They've spent alot more on young players than us, 10 million for walcott.

Rafa commented on how they can afford to buy top quality youngsters and we can't after the 6-3 match.

Over the years Arsenal have been more inclined to spend big than us.

4 years after Blackburn won it were they still capable? They got relegated. It's about your opinion of what the team's current capability is. You just seem incapable or unwilling to judge that for yourself.

As I said before, to do something you have to have been capable of it before you actually did it. You are just unwilling and/or incapable of judging this for yourself and are hiding behind the fact it is not proven yet. Who gives a **** about what's proven? We're all on here for opinions so why not try sticking your neck out and actually forming one?

Unlike the old football league, the Prem can be bought. Blackburn bought it, ManUre bought it throughout the '90s and Chelsea are buying it at the moment. Given their overwhelming financial advantage, I think it very likely that ManUre will overtake our league record at some point. In fact it is a testament to their long history of mediocrity that they haven't done so already. And when they do, they will realise that they are no more than the biggest fish in a small pond, whereas during our dominance we were deep sea predators.
                        Liverpool FC über alles.
